On Jan. 20 President Donald J. Trump was inaugurated. Many different reactions have come out from people celebrating to full blown riots. Reactions on social media are not that great either. The way people are reacting to Donald Trump is terrible and extreme.

The reactions have made most things seem worse than they actually are. This election in general was picking a lesser of two evils. Trump says things, and people believe the worst things will happen to the country. People believe that just because someone says things, they truly mean it. Everyone does things to get popular, and people either hate or love what they do.

Rioting is not the way most people want things to go. It is an extreme option for someone in response to a situation where we have no proof of the outcome. In other words, no one really knows how bad or good of a president Trump may be. Most assume the worst, thinking that with Trump the world will end. There will always be many “what ifs”, but those are never for sure. While Trump has said some terrible things, rioting is never the thing to do and should always be a last resort for extreme situations. Some of this protesting has stayed peaceful, but in some cases people have taken it to the point of destroying and looting buildings.

This election has brought out some people’s true colors. It has shown how racist and sexist some people are. It has also shown how crazy people can get about words used to gain popularity. What will happen in the next four years? No one will know for sure, but we can only hope for the best. Some people believe Trump will go back on his words, and others believe he will follow through with everything he has said. Only the future can tell what will happen.
