Kamiakin’s recent wrestling match against Eastmont came to a disappointing loss by 52-12. Even so, the team is still keeping their heads up and waiting for their next encounter with the Eastmont Wildcats to show them what we Braves can do. This wrestling team has been getting stronger as a team and also as individuals. Most of the guys are aiming high to get to state, but they need support to do it.
Urbano Pina said, “Come to our match and you won’t be disappointed.”
The coaches said, “We will fall as a team, but we will rise as a team as well”.
Other schools are underestimating our numbers because we hardly have any, but that doesn’t get the wrestlers down. Iit makes them work harder for that pin or the win. Even the freshmen are dedicating a lot of time to being part of the team. Wrestling isn’t an easy sport, sometimes causing the players bruises and injuries, but they overcome them.
At tournaments, the wrestlers have ranked high among the Tri-City schools. The team needs the school support in order to gain more confidence and reach higher goals.
