Tickets given to students with no parking pass

As most of you may know, jock lot and cage were targeted with tickets this week. Over half of both parking lots had $20.00 fines on their windshield as they walked out to lunch. The security guards claim that if your parking pass isn’t visible or you just simply don’t have one then you have to pay a fine for it.

Students would have more understanding if the circumstances were just a little bit different. The school administration makes it very clear at the beginning of each year that the student parking is based off of a first come, first serve type of basis. Why if we aren’t even guaranteed a spot, do we have to have a parking pass? Let alone get fined for it.

The students without a job might struggle to pay this $20.00. If the students are here on time and at school doing the right thing, then that is all that should matter. Instead of wasting time writing out hundreds of tickets, let the students park wherever they want without putting up a fight.
