This morning after first hour, Kamiakin had its Veteran’s Day Assembly. There were about 25 veterans in attendance who were all recognized. Lt. Col. Matt Boehnke, a former Kamiakin student (from about 25 years ago), spoke at the assembly for about 20 minutes. He recognized Skyler, Emery and Mallory Boehnke, three of our own Kamiakin students. He spoke about WWI, when the guns went silent for remembrance of the soldiers that gave their lives and thanked fellow soldiers that served with him.

After Boehnke spoke, Kamiakin students made the American flag while standing on the bleachers with red, white and blue paper. The assembly finished off with a moving video, and students walked out with red, white and blue balloons to represent the fallen (red), the wounded (white) and all the brave people who served (blue).
