120482-md-14457-sonydigitalpaper2In this day and age, technology is changing and advancing every year, even every day. From iPhones to tablets, new and improved versions of devices are being developed even as I write this. Sony is showing this improvement in technology by introducing their new 13.3-inch ‘Digital Paper’. Sony has intended this device for legal, educational, and business environments.

Sony’s 13.3-inch ‘Digital Paper’ is very light, only weighing 12.2 ounces and has a resolution of 1,200 by 1,600. The device has a display with touch controls, stylus input, and no backlight for easy daytime use. Designers claim the tablet has a three week battery life and 4 GB internal memory. Instead of the use of glass for the display, this Sony device uses plastic, making the device flexible much like paper. The ‘Digital Paper’ is easy to use and convenient for businesses or educators to write, store, and read documents.

Despite all these many features, the ‘Digital Paper’ is pretty pricey, retailing at $1,100. First introduced to Japan last year, they seemed to be fairly popular and about 1,000 of them were sold. Sony plans to put this tablet out on the retail market in May of this year.
