“All the credit [goes] to those guys, and they’re so resilient, up to [the last] win against Eastside Catholic, and then coming down here and being down with about 6,7 minutes left. And to pull out a victory, that talks a lot about their character. I’m just so proud of these guys, they’re such a good group of kids. I don’t even want this to end, I want to keep playing. They’re just amazing, I mean it’s happened all year. Like I told the other guys, after that Chiawana kicking they gave us, the kids decided at that point they weren’t ever going to have that happen again. They just decided they weren’t going to let that happen again, and the rest of the season they battled, and I’m so proud of them. The defense-man, Coach Maher, he’s been here for a long long time. He’s come close a couple times, and to get him his first state title means the world to me, and I know it means the world to these kids, because he deserves it. He’s the best defensive coach out there, and I’m so glad that I was a part of history in helping him get his first win.”
