“The atmosphere was crazy, both sides of the stadium were almost full and it was insanely loud. Walking onto the field was something I’ll never forget, you don’t realize how big the [Tacoma Dome really is] until you’re on the field running around for the first time. During warm ups I spent almost all of my time just trying to take it all in that we were really playing for the state championship. And walking off the field, I don’t think I’ve ever had a better experience. Leaving that field and heading into the locker room with my best friends and some guys that I’ll never play with again as state champ was almost unreal. Being a wide receiver for Kamiakin has a whole different meaning than any other school, I’m sure. Our receiver and even our coach have a brotherhood, we’re always there for each other and I know I can count on every single one of them. Thank you to every single one of them, I’ve learned more this season from them than any other time. Every one of them mean the world to me, I know I can go to anyone on our team, including all the coaches, any time I need something. It’s amazing, it means so much to me. It’s a memory that will truly last a lifetime. To be the first team in the history of Kamiakin and even the first team in Kennewick is surreal. Especially to win this with all of my brothers is amazing. I think we all had it in the back of our mind all season, but really after our first playoff game everyone on the team realized how good we really were and how much potential we still had. I think that’s when we realized we had a great shot at the state title. [To] my family, team, and coaches, I’d like to say thank you for always pushing me to be the best that I could be, and for always believing in me. Thanks for supporting us and believing in us throughout this whole journey, it was awesome to see the love and support from our community.”
